Retention and security

Retention periods vary by record. Some initial-contact records may be retained for conflict-checking purposes even when no attorney-client relationship begins.

The office uses reasonable safeguards, but no internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Do not send unnecessary sensitive information through a public form or ordinary email.

Your choices and privacy requests

You may ask the office to confirm, access, correct, or delete personal information about you, or ask how it is used. Subject to applicable law, legal confidentiality duties, evidence-preservation requirements, conflict records, and other exceptions, the office may need to verify your identity and may not be able to fulfill every request.
